Newly Available!!

Free New York Times Access for High School Students & Educators


The New York Times and Verizon are partnering to provide free digital access at home to all high school students and educators during this time of emergency remote learning.  All articles on the The New York Times are available until July 6 by going to or using the app. Students and teachers will receive an invitation email to sign up for their account. You must use that email to get the free access. 

Alexander Street Academic Video is available to stream!

More than than 66,000 titles including documentaries, performances, feature films, speeches, news stories & newsreel. Spans a wide range of subject areas including anthropology, business, politics, film, health, U.S & world history, music, and more. Closed captioning & transcripts provided.  Simply find the video you want, click Share at the top of the page, and grab the link for Google Classroom. The video will open directly when students click the link, no username or password necessary.  Click here to access our trial.

 Teen Book Cloud is offering their collection for free through August 31, 2020!
TeenBookCloud is an online database of eBooks and educator resources for middle school and high school with Graphic Novels, eBooks, classic literature, National Geographic videos, educator resources, and audiobooks. The collection is available online around the clock. No downloads, no waiting! If you can access the internet, you can be reading, watching, or listening.

  • Ebooks via EBSCO - Over 50,000 ebooks available for research or just for fun. Click on the Keefe Library Search tab, click on Books, type in a topic that interests you and then under Source Types, check the Ebooks box. (Login with BPS Google credentials)

  • Video Help - instruction and resources to ensure high quality video production
  • Media Literacy ("fake news") Libguide - Sharpen students' media literacy skills. Includes a compilation of Coronavirus rumors from Buzzfeed and authoritative  Corona Virus (Covid-19) Resources from the Massachusetts Library System.

You'll need your BPL library card number and PIN. If you need help, email Ms. Harari or Mr. Ellis.  Browse through thousands of offerings, all for free. Connect to the BPL e-resource page for information on streaming and downloading Hoopla, RBDigital, Overdrive (now called Libby) and Kanopy.

  • Audiobooks Install Libby and RBDigital from the app store on your smart phone or tablet. 
  • Current magazines Install Libby and RBDigital from the app store on your smart phone or tablet.  
  • Ebooks  Install Libby or Hoopla from the app store on your smart phone or tablet. Hoopla can also be accessed through a laptop or desktop computer. 
  • Tutorials 
    • Use Mango Languages to study English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German or Italian
    • Use Learning Express Library for test prep - Continue to prepare for AP's and SAT's.
    •  Use Lynda for courses in business, software, technology, and creative skills, taught by recognized industry experts.
  • Video and music  Install Kanopy or Hoopla from the app store on your smart phone or tablet. Kanopy or Hoopla can also be accessed through a laptop or desktop computer.
