  • Open current issue
  • Click on the magifying glass to open up search
  • Select "All Issues" from drop down box, enter a keyword.

Environmental Studies in Context (Gale) provides a range of  current magazine, newspaper, journal articles and book chapters on environmental science.
Science in Context (Gale) provides a range of  current magazine, newspaper, journal articles and book chapters from a variety of scientific publications.
Science Interactive (Gale) - View simulations of experiments across scientific disciplines.
PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's database of science journal articles for in depth research. Note: Many articles are indexed but not all are linked to full-text.

 

Important Message the Keefe Library

**Important Message** As of July 1, 2025 we lost access to most of the Gale databases and Boston Globe (Proquest) database. This is the result of the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners losing its funding when an executive order eliminated grants dispersed by the Institute of Library and Museum Services (IMLS). We anticipate that Boston Public Schools will pay to continue access starting in September. This summer the only databases availalbe are:

  • LIterature Resource Center
  • Literature Criticism Online
  • Gale Health & Wellness
  • Gale Academic OneFile (using BPL card)

Tips for EBSCO Searching (The Big Purple Box)

To search all Keefe Library digital resources (databases, articles, and ebooks):

Type search term in purple search box.

Filter by:

  • type of source (ebook, academic journal, news, etc.)
  • database ("content provider")
  • time period

Use Advanced Search to search on multiple terms, narrow by date, type of article, or a specfic journal/magazine.

Click on "Find a Book" to search the Keefe Library collection within the Boston Public Library catalog.
