Evil Under the Sun by Agatha Christie – 5/5 stars

Published: 1941, Collins Crime Club

Genre: Crime/Mystery

Reviewer: Iris C., Class III

This is another novel following Christie’s world famous detective Hercule Poirot. This time, someone has murdered a very beautiful and famous actress staying at Poirot’s hotel (the Arlena Marshall) during his vacation in Devon. With a large cast of interesting characters and varying motives, this mystery easily keeps one’s attention with themes such as love, death, money, fame, and what it means to have it all. There were many twists in this mystery, and although I absolutely did not guess the culprit(s), it was fascinating to see Poirot string seemingly random clues together at the end. I would 100% recommend checking it out. Another great work by Christie, doing mystery as mystery is done best!
